Microcontroller

GraspIO is based on two ATMega328 controllers each having 14 digital I/O pins and 6 analog input pins, many of its pins are mapped to on board ports of sensors, motors, displays etc.
Two controllers coordinate with each other in the back-end and support all the peripherals to work parallely.

On board WiFi module connects GraspIO to mobile devices wirelessly and is capable of playing dual roles of client and server through AP and STA modes respectively.Switching to STA mode connects GraspIO to GIO Cloud automatically enabling users to access it from anywhere over secure environment.

GraspIO has DC jack to power it either with a 9V 1000mA AC to DC Adapter or 9V battery. Board is designed with utmost precautions and circuit protection. Two on board Voltage regulators distribute the power across the controllers and its peripherals flawlessly, ensuring them to work simultaneously.

A Sensor that provides voltage output can be connected to any of the 3 Input ports.Current version of the app supports IR, Temperature, Moisture, Motion, Light, Flex, Pot, Switch and 11 Touch Electrodes of FreeScale MPR121 Touch Sensor. There is also provision in the app to add custom sensor blocks. 

Motor

GraspIO has 8 ports for 5V servos and 2 DC motor ports interfaced with L293 dual full-bridge driver. Motor driver is based on L293 which is a dual full-bridge driver designed to drive loads such as DC and Stepper motors.It can drive the motors controlling the speed and direction of each one independently.
